Challenge

Urban Frontiers in partnership with PUBLIC, was commissioned by the Health Foundation (THF), to conduct a discovery to outline a new £2m future funding programme for technology enabled care for new models of care in the home or community. We developed a series of ten problem statements relating to proactive and relational components, for testing with relevant stakeholders.

Our Role & Impact

Urban Frontiers led the four month, four-stage sprint process;

  • Hypothesis testing to determine the correct problem to solve

  • Literature and desk research to understand the topic and the key problems/opportunities, identify stakeholder groups, developed a series of ten problem statements for testing with stakeholders

  • Stakeholder engagement across 12 stakeholder groups from patients to national health leaders, with 56 interviews and four workshops

  • Synthesise key findings, recommendations, next steps, debrief

The outcomes and recommendations addressed THFs ambitions around how the funding programme design can drive the greatest impact, and also what the greatest opportunity could be to address, leading to the commissioning of an innovation partner to deliver the programme.

David is meticulous and laser focused on the detail, but also very able to shift and switch as reality does, and deal with uncertainty, ambiguity and adversity.
