Challenge

Defence is going through a radical transformation as access to technology is democratised. The Percy Hobart Fellowship (PHF) was a full-time, 12-week programme that aimed to drive a culture of innovation in Defence.

The programme taught Royal Navy and Royal Air Force personnel to identify the needs of today’s military and secure the most effective technologies and tools to meet these needs. Fellows have also joined from the US Navy, British Army, and MoD.

Our Role & Impact

Urban Frontiers worked with PUBLIC to deliver the leadership coaching curriculum of the programme, building a team of leadership coaches with a diverse range of backgrounds and approaches, to work with the Fellows alongside their mentors and course commitments.

We delivered transformative leadership coaching to dozens of senior military innovators across the Royal Navy, Royal Air Force, and US Navy. The program received unanimous positive feedback and sparked requests to the Chief of Air Staff for expanded coaching initiatives within the Royal Air Force.

The insight it’s has provided has been fantastic. The military builds layers of coping and not addressing significant situations throughout our careers. The insights I have gained has been invaluable in recognising and changing the way I lead my teams.
